First 100 Days: News Conference
Tonite, President Obama did his third prime-time news conference.
He's "pleased but not satisfied" with the progress made so far. I think he's doing an excellent job. The mess our country is in did not happen in just 100 day, and it can't be fixed in 100 days either.
There's an excellent summary of the press conference here, complete with a transcript.
Oh yeah, there's also a link to listen to NPR's live coverage of the news conference.
I really like NPR. And, I really feel HOPE, with an intelligent adult in charge.

Cool thing, besides getting the license plates: $35 of the cost is a tax deductible contribution to the Illinois Library Assosiation.
Now, I just have to balance that pesky budget, and find the $50 so I can order!

Donald Trump on Miss California's Gay Marriage Answer
O'Reilly is a jerk; that's obvious.
Here's the Donald, discussing the Miss California Gay Marriage answer. Trump doesn't think she would have won anyway, even without the gay marriage question.

I don't watch any of the Beauty Contests--just never cared one way or the other about them. I have no idea if Miss California is more than just another pretty face or not. I will say though, she didn't sound too bright when she was answering! Reminds me of Palin, actually! ::wink::

The Poor TARP Wife!
I look around my world, and see so many who are truly struggling, just to keep food on the table, electricity turned on, and keep their rent or mortgages paid. I know the struggle very well myself; I have never had a cushy lifestyle.
Now, I read this 'anonymous' wife's story, of how her privileged lifestyle has changed since her hubby is "CEO of one of the biggest TARP recipients".
Boo-Freaking-Hoo!
That may be a bit cold-hearted of me, but I just can't even compare her 'changed lifestyle' with what I see around me. She is not on the verge of being homeless or hungry. No doubt, that family still has excellent health care, while so many of us do not.

Rush is a Brainwashed Nazi!
Rush Limpballs gets called out by one of his callers on Tuesday's show!
I didn't actually listen to this 'live' on Tuesday; although I channel surf while driving, and listen for the few minutes I can stand his bigoted ignorance. Tuesday, I was busy and didn't listen to him at all.
The video above is the entire call, featuring "Charles, from Chicago". I found it
here. Media Matters has the transcript of the call as well.
Probably best that I didn't have time to catch this on the road--I would have had to pull over and cheer for Charles, the man who served in the Marine Corps and the Army, and knows torturing people is wrong.

A 'Wardrobe Malfunction'
Levi Johnston will be on the Tyra Show Monday, talking about his relationship with Bristol, what he thinks about the Gov, safe sex, teen parenthood--all that. His Mom and sister are on the show with him.

I probably won't be able to see it, since it's on at the ungodly hour of 9am here. Maybe I'll pick up a fresh tape for the VCR. LOL, 'wardrobe malfunction'...can't say I ever heard it described quite that way!

OK! Really, I AM OK!
It just seems like there have been precious few minutes to spare in the past week! I have managed to skim through what's been going on with AKM's situation, keep an ear on the news, and not much else! I am still pissed at the whole situation, and yes--it smells really foul to me. I wonder if "Mr Greta" might have something to do with it, since he is so tight with SP?
I've been really busy, with my business. Lots of new Reps; some need a LOT of 'hand-holding' as they get started. Others take the initiative and "just DO it", with little help from me.
Youngest son has been digging in the yard, replacing and moving the PVC pipes as he installs underground irrigation. He found something really wierd today! There's one pipe from the well, going AWAY from the house, toward the canal at the back corner of our lot! NOW we know why the grass in that corner stays nice and green all year, and sometimes...and why we have had sinkholes a couple times! It probably explains how we have had pumps wear out faster than normal, too! Anyway, he capped that odd pipe, checked for leaks, and all seems to be fine now.
Friday is more of the same: last few deliveries, sign a new Rep, and help a few more. Oh yeah...have to start order entry. This weekend, hopefully, I will find time to work on the T word some more. That dreaded day is creeping up really fast!
Just hope I don't owe too much!
Maybe I'll have time to breathe!
