What I am NOT Doing Tonight!

I have thought about it, and seriously considered turning on the tee vee in the family room to watch O'Palin give her speech tonight at the Tea Baggers' Convention in Nashville, but I just can't do it! NOPE! I simply cannot bring myself to sit through it!

The sound of her screech makes my ears hurt, and I believe it causes the brain to bleed. Bleeding in the brain is not on the list of things I really want to do, so I'll just say "Thanks, but NO thanks"

Do I want to know what kind of sh!t she will spew tonight for the 600 or so teabaggers with more dollars than sense? Yes, of course I do!

I'm sure there will plenty of reports and video clips out there in the blogosphere tonight, as well as some live-tweeting and blogging. Later, I can look for the transcript and attempt to read it.

I really appreciate those who are stronger than I am, for watching/listening to O'Palin so I don't have too!

Trouble Brewing At The Tea Baggers' Ball?

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Holy mandation! The more I hear of the Teabaggers and their upcoming ball, the more I laugh!

Crazy-ass Bachmann has canceled, and so has Marsha Blackburn, a Congresscritter from TN.

Will O'Palin quit too, also?

Or will the teabaggers have their much-anticipated serving of word salad to go with that $500+ surf-n-turf dinner?

Freaking hilarious!

Craziness Reigns SUPREME!

Like the rest of the world, I have been following President Obama's nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court.

They say she's "not smart enough" to be a SC Justice? Really? Tell me, how does one graduate at the top of the class, at any college, and not be smart? And these are the same asshats who supported Dubya? The same ones who thought Palin was the best choice for VP?

I have heard a lot of criticism of something she said back in 2001:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life”

Her words in that quote seem to make sense. I didn't perceive it as a "racist" statement. Different people, from different backgrounds and racial blends is NOT a bad thing! Our country is after all, made up of males, females, young, old, black, white, and brown--varying shades of all. Our country is also made up of people with all kinds of ethnic backgrounds. We are NOT a country of just old rich white men.

Mike Huckabee made me laugh:

The appointment of Maria Sotomayor for the Supreme Court is the clearest indication yet that President Obama's campaign promises to be a centrist and think in a bipartisan way were mere rhetoric.

He couldn't even get her first name right! Hmmm, was there a little racism involved in that? Hispanic, female--name must be 'Maria'.

Of course, it has since been corrected--see Huckabee's website, HucPAC

Limpballs has called her an angry bigot. Rove told Greta Van SuckUp that she (Sotomayor) "pays too much attention to grammar" and compared her to a "schoolmarm". I also read several places, that Mark Krikorian from the National Review has issues with pronouncing Sotomayor correctly. Ridiculous!

I honestly believe, if the President had nominated Jesus Christ for the Supreme Court, the Asshats of Wingnuttia would have found fault with him too!

The InsHannity Of It All

Watching the news on the war criminals and torture issue just sickens me. HOW on earth can any of the wing-nuts possibly claim waterboarding is NOT torture? I just don't understand that mentality! I saw the segment on KO Friday night, where the conservative shock jock from WLS was waterboarded. He lasted about 6 seconds, and changed his tune really fast!

Eric "Mancow" Muller did what Sean Hannity did not: he stepped up to the challenge. And, he admitted it IS torture. And, isn't torture ILLEGAL?

On a lighter note, Keith's WTF!?! moment:

Alright, I admit it. I am easily entertained! Gotta love a good belly laugh!

PsychoTalk: Bachman Blames Dems for Flu

This idiot is beyond stupid!

HOW the hell did she ever get elected to anything?

I just don't understand how anyone that dumb can get elected to anything!

Of course, she's not the only fidgit to be elected. Look at Alaska. Oh yeah, and Dubya got himself appointed President in 2000, and then re-elected in 2004.

THUD!

Rush is a Brainwashed Nazi!

Rush Limpballs gets called out by one of his callers on Tuesday's show!

I didn't actually listen to this 'live' on Tuesday; although I channel surf while driving, and listen for the few minutes I can stand his bigoted ignorance. Tuesday, I was busy and didn't listen to him at all.

The video above is the entire call, featuring "Charles, from Chicago". I found it
here. Media Matters has the transcript of the call as well.

Probably best that I didn't have time to catch this on the road--I would have had to pull over and cheer for Charles, the man who served in the Marine Corps and the Army, and knows torturing people is wrong.

Rush is an idiot!

Michelle Bachman

Something is seriously wrong with this woman!
---------------------------------------------

Freaks!

Seriously, I can't stop laughing! Is it a "special of the week" over in Wing Nut Land, or what?

This week, we have poor Sarah whining about "there was no one to pray with" before the VP debate:

"So I'm looking around for somebody to pray with, I just need maybe a little help, maybe a little extra," said Palin. "And the McCain campaign, love 'em, you know, they're a lot of people around me, but nobody I could find that I wanted to hold hands with and pray."

Ummmmm...why not just quietly pray by herself? Is is really necessary to have someone to pray WITH? I don't get it!

Then, I see Steele in an interview, saying he's open to running for President in 2012:
if that's part of the plan, it'll be the plan…. it'll be because that's where God wants me to be at that time."

That story is here

And, was it earlier this week, or sometime last week, that (not) Joe the NOT a Plumber told a bunch of the Repugs he was "horny?

WHAT are these fidgits smoking, drinking or rubbing into their bellies?

Whatever it is, they have been poisoned by it!

Morning Funnies

Ok, I'm having coffee and clicking around as I wake up here. First stop was a long-time favorite chat board. Can't get in there, just an error message saying the site is temporarily down. Ok, I'll try again later.

Next stop is Mudflats, to check on the Doggie Doo story. I followed a link in the comments to another story, this one about the Robo-calls happening in certain states.

This quote from the comments really made me laugh:

I'll bet only someone who does not have her interests in mind is behind this. She can't possibly have anything to do with it.

My suspicion is either Romney or Obama. It shows that they fear her.

Romney or President Obama is behind the calls?? They FEAR her?? ROFLOL!

Full story and comments here

Ok, back to reading for a while. No apointments or deliveries today, so maybe I can stay in my jammies until meeting time this evening!

Florida 'Birther' Wing-Nut Proposes a 'Birth Certificate' Bill

I caught a little bit of this on CNN last night, and did another big ol' eye-roll.

Have we not been through this crap already? Has it not been verified that, YES, President Obama is a natural-born citizen of our fine country, and therefore, qualified to hold the highest office?

From TPM:

Rep. Bill Posey, a freshman Republican from Florida, is now putting forward a bill that should be good news for a particular demographic that cares a whole lot about their issue: Those folks out there who insist that President Obama hasn't offered a birth certificate to prove he's a natural-born U.S. citizen.

Full article can be read here

Know what I think? I think maybe it's time to require proof of critical thinking skills for anyone running for public office! ENOUGH already, with the fidgits!

PApolitico

These are the PMs from the TS site; between me and PApolitical, who seems to be deleted.

Guess they don't tolerate anyone voicing an opinion that is not all gushy and gooey about SP!

Lol. You are one of my favorite people on TS right now because even if you disagree with me you still respect my point of view.

Have a great evening/morning.

I have always been one who has a great deal of intellectual curiosity,
not only about politics, but the world around me in general. As a result
of that curiosity, I simply enjoy learning other world views, and the opinions
of others, whether they are similar to mine or not.

Oh yes...no WAY was that woman ready to be one 72 y/o heartbeat away.
Even if she was, I'd still not vote for her; based on issues.

On issues, I am much more liberal, but still curious and respectful of the views
and opinions of others. To me, that is a true American value: the right to
have one's own opinions and belief systems. How's that saying go...."I may not
agree with you, but I will defend your right to your opinion"...something like that?

Wouldn't life be rather boring if we were all cookie cutter copies of the same
mold? (Think "Stepford Wives")

Have a good nite! :)

I totally agree! I actually voted for her because of the issues she stood for not so much because of her experience.

Anyways, I'm glad there are other people on this site who can brush off all the rude comments. I've been getting quite a laugh tonight.

I'll be on the Palin fan club for a little while longer then I need to really hit the sack.

Nite!

Team Sarah

I can't help it--I simply have a curious mind. I want to know what the 'other side' is thinking, where they're coming from, what makes them tick. Because of that curiosity, I sometimes listen to Rush or Sean on the radio. I sometimes tune in FOX Noise too, and check out Bill O'Reilly, Greta, Ann Coulter, etc for the same reasons.

I usually can't stand any of them for more than about 5 or 10 minutes, and change stations again. If it's TV, I go back to MSNBC; radio: back to either NPR or the classic rock station.

I also make it a point to visit some of the wing-nut websites. It's just a good thing to be exposed to alternate ideas, thoughts and belief systems--I am NOT narrow minded, I want to know as much as possible about everything!

Tonite, I peeked in at the Team Sarah site. There's a new blog entry there, from one of the Moderators. AND IT ACTUALLY MAKES A LITTLE SENSE!

http://tinyurl.com/9o5pwh

here's a quote from that blog:

Sarah Palin is not qualified to be President in 2012. And honestly, she wasn't qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency this cycle. The mayoral and gubernatorial experience was great, but when push came to shove she couldn't give a coherent foreign policy statement other than "Russia is Alaska's neighbor." We all noticed.

I was shocked to actually see a Palinite actually admit to knowing what (thankfully!) most American voters knew all along!

Color me suprised!

~~~~~~~~~UPDATE! 1/8/09 @ 1214 ~~~~~~~~
That link no longer works. The person (PApolitico) who wrote the article, deleted it last nite.
and tonite, when I checked back, PApolitico seems to have been deleted!
I still have a couple PMs between the 2 of us...maybe I should bring them here!
