"As The Story Crumbles"

Keith Olbermann was really good tonite! One of my favorite segments was #4, where he and guest Margaret Carlson rip into some of the LIES told by Palin.

SARAHPAC OF LIES, LOL!

Crazy World!

Seriously---digging up graves and reselling the plots?

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Four Chicago-area cemetery workers have been charged with allegedly digging up graves and dumping the remains so the burial plots could be resold, prosecutors said on Thursday.

I'm sure such things have been going on for ages. I am just shaking my head, and wondering what kind of vile person could even think of doing such a thing? What is WRONG with some people!

Music

I know, most of the world has had an iPod for a long time now. Not me. I just never even thought about getting one. After all, I do have a nice stereo system with AM/FM radio, dual cassette player, AND a working turntable! I have a CD player, and of course, I can play music on the computer, or listen to radio online as well.

I now have a few iPods!

There was an incentive a few months ago, for recruiting new Avon Reps. The prizes? Cash for each qualified recruit I added to my Team, and after a certain number, the free iPods kicked in!

My son got it all loaded up for me, with my favorites--and I love it! He did good selecting music for me.

I'll still be using my stereo sometimes of course. Yep--you guessed it! I still have albums and even a few old 45s!

The extra iPods? Since it seems the kids all have one already, and so do the granddaughters, I will probably use them as Incentive prizes for my Team. :)

An old email from my daughter: WHAT IF..

I just found an email my daughter sent me last October. I don't remember where she got it, but she sent it on to me and all of her friends.

I have of course, removed the names and email addresses of the other recipients, just because.

WHAT IF..

Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin, what if things were switched around? .....
think about it.

Would the country's collective point of view be different? Could racism be
the culprit?

Ponder the following:

What if the Obama had paraded five children across the stage, including a
three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain
killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings 90 and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many
occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if the Obama's had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list.

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does.
It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Educational Background:

Barack Obama: Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization
in International Relations.

Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden: University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Vs

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our standing in the world.

It saddens me to think that this is the America (Every one is created equal, land of the free, and home of the brave.) that we live in but it is sadly reality.

Random Thoughts

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

As usual, I have been busy--but that is a poor excuse for not taking the time to write anything!

Our rainy season is here, sort of! We are getting almost-daily thunderstorms. In fact, the rains on Tuesday, resulted in a nasty fall for me! Not to worry, I'm sure it's just a sprain, and not a fractured foot! I'm self-treating: ice, elevation, ace wrap--the usual stuff. The swelling has gone down enough I can get a shoe on, and weight-bearing is more tolerable, so I'll be fine! :)

I have been reading and following the Iran "election", Health Care Reform, all the insanity from certain batshit crazy wingnuts, the deaths of Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and then Karl Madden--I just didn't feel like writing anything! I'd call it writer's block, except I don't think of myself as a 'writer'.

Plans for the Fourth: I wanted to go to the city's annual Red White and BOOM, down on the riverfront, but will stay home instead. The foot is better, but not quite up to all the walking required down there. It's ok though--my daughter and I will have burgers here, and at 9pm (EST) I can listen to Shannyn Moore. I'm sure it will be an excellent show tonite; it always is! With the announcement Palin made yesterday, I can hardly wait to hear the callers and what they have to say about it!

Speaking of Palin: I did watch her word salad yesterday a few times. She looked awful and sounded worse than usual! I don't think it was nervousness that caused all the gasping we witnessed--I think she was just super-pissed! I think the "Iceberg" is headed her way, picking up speed, and she knows it. Her resigning as Governor just reeks! I wonder which of the 'gates' is going to bring her down? Will she be facing some serious jail time? Who will she take down with her? Will she pack up her family and just leave the country before the "Feds" come with the warrant and cuffs? LOL, like I told my daughter, this shit is better than watching the soaps on TV!

Ok, if I want to eat tonite, guess I better be brave, and go to WalMart! Wish me well, I hate going there. I'd just go to the Publix up the road, but I also need birdseed, and they don't carry it.
