Music

I know, most of the world has had an iPod for a long time now. Not me. I just never even thought about getting one. After all, I do have a nice stereo system with AM/FM radio, dual cassette player, AND a working turntable! I have a CD player, and of course, I can play music on the computer, or listen to radio online as well.

I now have a few iPods!

There was an incentive a few months ago, for recruiting new Avon Reps. The prizes? Cash for each qualified recruit I added to my Team, and after a certain number, the free iPods kicked in!

My son got it all loaded up for me, with my favorites--and I love it! He did good selecting music for me.

I'll still be using my stereo sometimes of course. Yep--you guessed it! I still have albums and even a few old 45s!

The extra iPods? Since it seems the kids all have one already, and so do the granddaughters, I will probably use them as Incentive prizes for my Team. :)

A Great Song!

Just another of my old favorites, from long ago and far away!

Puff The Magic Dragon

Simpler times, I guess!

I can't think right now, of who the Asshat was, that made the disgusting "Barack the Magic Negro" out of this, but it pissed me off! I know Limpballs latched right onto it--he loved it!

I remember reading on HuffPo, Peter Yarrow's excellent response to Chip Saltzman's sending it as 'gift' to members of the Republican National Committee. Asshat---that's all I can say about Saltzman!

Since Puff was recorded in 1963, I know I hadn't smoked yet; not quite a teen, still in the innocence of childhood then. I never realized it was "about smoking pot". And even now, I still don't get that message when I listen to it. Maybe I smoked too much pot later on, and fried my grey matter?

Ok, enough for now. I need some more coffee.

Helen Reddy: I Am Woman

Loved this song, back in 1972, when it was #1 on the charts briefly. Interesting times, the early 70s.

The song did earn Helen Reddy a Grammy for Female Pop Vocal Performance, and I still remember when she gave her acceptance speech for that Grammy--she ended the speech by thanking God "because She makes everything possible". A lot of people freaked out over that remark, but I absolutely loved it!

So, I found this on You Tube. Enjoy!
