Obviously I don't spend enough time watching TV. We have Cable TV at my house, including HBO in the package, yet I don't have a clue what's coming up there, unless someone alerts me, or I happen to see it mentioned online.
Tonite, while reading at Palin's Deceptions, a documentary by filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi was mentioned by Diana in the comments (thanks, Diana!).
I googled the title, and found the link:
RIGHT AMERICA: FEELING WRONGED - SOME VOICES FROM THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL
Of course, it's at the tail-end already, so I'll try watching the whole thing tomorrow night. What I DID see of it, was some pretty disgusting, so-called Americans, during the Campaign, saying all the usual negative shit about Barack Obama. "He's a terrorist", "he's a Muslim"....the usual garbage we all heard. And, no doubt, these same freakazoids call themselves 'Christians'?
Another documentary coming up on HBO this Saturday:
TAKING CHANCE.
It's going to be on Saturday 8pm EST. As far as I know, I should be free and able to watch it. There are of course, other dates and times I can see it; and if all else fails, it will be "on Demand" starting Feb 24th.

President Obama's "Spiffy Ride"
I watched this on CNN's website, and just thought it was cool!
I can't remember ever seeing the Air Force One personalized jacket before, with any previous presidents--is that something new, or did I just never notice it?

Busy Stuff
Saturday, I had the meeting for my Reps who are on track for President's Club. Attendance was beyond poor, as in ZERO. So, I just enjoyed my coffee at Starbucks, and talked to some of the other customers, and gave them brochures. The way I see it, the time was NOT wasted. I enjoyed having my coffee THERE, instead of the usual "to go".
Bulk mail is done, sorted and boxed. I'll drop it off tomorrow, when I'm out that way anyhow.
Phone calls and emails to customers are done, just waiting for return calls.
What's left to get done? Just the usual:
-Feed birds
-Fix something to eat (chicken breasts?)
-Laundry
-Mop kitchen again
Probably, the mopping can wait!

Bank of the MATTRESS?
Or...Bank of the CEDAR CHEST?
Dig a hole in the back yard?
Which way should I go?
I have been banking at the same bank for over 10 years, and have been happy there. Tonite, with no prior warning, we are told the bank has failed, and our accounts are now transferred to another bank.
According to what I have been reading, my small accounts are safe, the money is still available, debit cards and checks still working. It LOOKS like all that will change, is the name of the bank.
I am nervous and worried, no matter HOW simple it all looks at the FDIC site, and the other info provided by the 'new' bank. Honestly, I feel a very strong urge, to take out all but a couple dollars, and just hide the cash.
Aunt Nellie lived through the Great Depression, and never ever trusted banks after that. I remember she kept cash hidden in various places throughout the house: between pages of her Bible, behind pictures hanging on the walls, underneath carpets....she had a ton of places she kept her money. I know she did have an account at one bank; she used it to cash her pension checks every month.
I know, back in those days, bank accounts were not guaranteed by the FDIC like they are now, but still, I am feeling very nervous.
I understand Aunt Nellie's feeling about banks a little better now.
Never mind that I have way less than the $250,000 limit they cover--I am extremely nervous right now. It is seriously tempting, to just hide cash, rather than keep it in any bank!

Presidential Prank
Julio Osegueda, the 19 yr old McDonald's employee President Obama took his last question from at the Ft Myers Town Hall, was pranked by a radio station in Phoenix!
Never mind that I found it hilarious when Palin got pranked by the guys on that radio station in Canada, I feel sorry for this poor kid! Ater all, he IS just a kid; not a VP candidate!
Here's the story
I peeked at a few of the comments there, but I just can't bring myself to read there for any length of time. That's as bad as trying to listen to Rush or Sean for more than a few minutes; I just don't have the stomach for all that venom.
Maybe I'm just an 'ol softie, but I just don't think it was right, for the Phoenix radio station to pick on a KID!

No Tickets!
I don't know where they all went, but in about 20 minutes, they announced they were OUT of tickets!
Only 250 tickets given out
Several people had 'camped out' overnight. According to local news, the first person in line, got there about 10am Sunday. It had crossed my mind, to go down there and spend the night--wish I had!
As scheduled, at 9am they started giving out the tickets.
It had been reported that there was 1500 tickets...2 per person limit.
WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE DAMN TICKETS!!
WHO got them--local politicians and muckity-mucks, is my guess!

I KNOW, TOTALLY UNLIKE ME!
But, I AM going to bed early tonite, come hell or highwater! Actually, I will resort to taking a sleeping pill, borrowed from a friend!
I want those tickets for Tuesday's Town Hall with President Obama so bad, I can hardly stand it!
Youngest son Larry is planning to go with me, IF we can get the tickets. Bless his heart, he is even willing to let me sleep in, and just go by himself to get the tix. They have set a "2 per person" limit, with "about 1500 available", according to the last report I heard. That same (local) news report also said they were not sure how many of the 1500 would be available for the general public. Goes without saying, there will be local Mayors and other muckity-mucks there, but why would they need tickets?
The plan right now is...watch the news at 11. IF they show lines already forming at the Harborside Event Center, or whether we can wait and go there in the early morning?
I am excited! And whether or not we actually get tickets or not, I feel so much HOPE for the future of our country!
OK, back to finishing order entry, so I can sleep, and (hopefully) get those tickets tomorrow!

Anyway, here's the message from President Obama.

President Obama in Ft Myers on Tuesday!
From our local NBC affiliate:
I am going to TRY to get tickets, even though I don't DO morning!
I had read earlier at the NBC site, he will be seeing Lehigh Acres,as an example of how bad the housing crisis and economic mess in general is here in SW FL. My own neighborhood is a good example too.
One day last week, the power went out. My daughter made the call to the power company--she must have been among the very first to call. They asked her if neighboring houses seemed to be affected too. She had to tell them, it was hard to tell, with so many vacant/abandoned properties in the neighborhood!
It's bad everywhere, I know. I am scared, but have a feeling of hope and faith, that with President Obama leading us, we WILL come through it.
