Fourteen Kids!

From tonite's Countdown:

The Fertility Doctor needs to lose his medical license!

Just Stuff!

It DID warm up today! I think it got up to 60, maybe? That's much better, even though it's still colder than I like. And of course, I know how bad it is elsewhere--that's ONE reason I live here instead of 'elsewhere'! ;)

There was another Avon Conference Call today. Still no solid date for the Online Appointment Roll-Out, but they are saying sometime in March. We'll see. Photobucket

Just in from Twirl-
clairecmc: "Hysterical. Swarming Senators around candy drawer in back of Chamber" That must be a sight to see!

Also, according to Twirl, she doesn't think there will be a final vote until Sunday. Not really suprised there.

Speak of things economic: Normally, traffic is extremely sucky this time of year, because as it gets really cold up north, the snowbirds arrive in droves, and clog up the roads and everything else. Judging by traffic patterns, I think a whole bunch of them either stayed in the ice and snow, or went somewhere else! I tend to think they stayed home, due to the economy.

Ok, watching KO, and feeling ready for a glass of wine.

Pot Raids

NatlNORML: Obama Is Against Pot Raids, the Public Is Against Pot Raids, And Yet ... the Drug Cops' Raids Continue

Got this on Twirl about an hour ago. Saving it to read in the morning---I am freezing, going to get under some heavy covers!

Another Old Favorite!

From the 1971 album Survival, Grand Funk RailRoad:

I Can Feel Him In The Morning

There's another You Tube, with lyrics instead of album covers/posters:

I Can Feel Him In The Morning (w/Lyrics)

Enjoy!

A Great Song!

Just another of my old favorites, from long ago and far away!

Puff The Magic Dragon

Simpler times, I guess!

I can't think right now, of who the Asshat was, that made the disgusting "Barack the Magic Negro" out of this, but it pissed me off! I know Limpballs latched right onto it--he loved it!

I remember reading on HuffPo, Peter Yarrow's excellent response to Chip Saltzman's sending it as 'gift' to members of the Republican National Committee. Asshat---that's all I can say about Saltzman!

Since Puff was recorded in 1963, I know I hadn't smoked yet; not quite a teen, still in the innocence of childhood then. I never realized it was "about smoking pot". And even now, I still don't get that message when I listen to it. Maybe I smoked too much pot later on, and fried my grey matter?

Ok, enough for now. I need some more coffee.

The Action Americans Need

This is in today's Washington Post: The Action Americans Need

President Obama (how I absolutely LOVE typing that!) says:

What Americans expect from Washington is action that matches the urgency they feel in their daily lives -- action that's swift, bold and wise enough for us to climb out of this crisis.

It's really nice, to finally have a leader, an ADULT in charge....someone who realizes that the tax cuts for the wealthy did not and will not help the rest of the country, someone who actually CARES about us.

I do not claim to know all the answers, how to fix the mess we are in, but I don't see where all those tax cuts have helped the regular working Joes and Janes,

We need some change, and YES WE CAN!

Sleep 'Issues'

Most of the time, I'm still awake at 4 or 5 am.

I have never been a 'morning person', and really never wanted to be. Even as a child, I didn't go to sleep early. Mom and Dad enforced an early bedtime for us, as all good parents know, children need the appropriate amount of sleep to grow and learn, right?

So, bedtime was 8 pm when we were in grade school. Jr High, it was 9 pm, HS was 10pm. For me, it didn't matter---I would lay there in my bed, wide awake, til at least 2am. And, have a hard time getting up in the morning!

Fast forward to adulthood, and the world of work. Whenever possible, I chose to work nights. Real nights, as in 11p-7a. My second choice was always the evening shift. Never ever would I choose a job that involved early morning hours!

These days, I am the Avon Lady, and set my own hours. About the only time I have to get up early, is when we have a Seminar, and it's out of town, like the one last week in Tampa. Damn thing started at 10am, and it's about a 2hr drive from here! Grrrr!

I really really try to get to bed by 2 or so. But I am wide awake, and my brain won't shut down, so why fight it! I just stay up and read, write, watch TV, whatever.

It's not like I stay in the bed half the day--most days, I am up by 10 or 1030. I need a couple hours, to drink coffee, check the favorite places, drink more coffee, and get a shower.

Anyway, that's me. The natural night-owl.

Obama sets executive pay limits

Well, I'd say President Obama is a little more generous with these losers than I would be! I liked Sen Claire McCaskill's $400,000 cap better, but this cool half-million is at least a step in the right direction!

It has been mentioned on different news shows, that the $500,000 cap is about 10 times more than the average American worker makes. Jeez, if my income was even that $50,000 per year, I'd feel RICH!

"These People Are Idiots"

"These People Are Idiots"

I agree 1000% with Claire!

These companies took billions of dollars in bail-out money, TAX-PAYERS' money then gave their execs millions in bonus money?

How DARE they!!

I really think her bill is a good one: limit their execs pay to $400,000/yr until they pay back to the taxpayers, every dime of the money they received in the bail-out.

Photobucket

Actually...I'd like to see that $400,000 cap go BEYOND just the time they pay back all that money, assuming they ever DO pay it back!

Hell, make it PERMANENT!
