I've been watching the news reports about President Obama addressing the graduates at Notre Dame today. I hear news of protest from the anti-CHOICE people.
I have heard on the news, that they say the President is "Pro-Abortion". That is simply not true. Is anyone really "Pro-Abortion"? Honestly, I have never met anyone who is!
I was listening to NPR a couple days ago, and someone (a caller?) said it very well. She said something like this: I have never heard anyone say "Wow! I just had an abortion, and it was so cool! You really should have one too!" To me, that sort of statement is what I would expect from a real "Pro-Abortion" person.
I have known women over the years, who have had abortions, and never was it described as a "cool experience". I seriously don't expect to ever hear it described quite that way. Abortion is a really hard decision for a woman to make. I really believe that it is not a decision made easily.
I can agree to disagree with others on the issue of choice. To me, it's really simple: Don't believe in abortion? Don't have one!
I just don't think it's right for any religious group to force their beliefs on everyone else.

You are so right.. wonderful summation. His speech was great. And the introduction from the President of Notre Dame was wonderful. What a beautiful reception he got and many standing O's and lots of applause. I saw very few students with the protests on their caps and only 2 people were taken out, far as I could tell. That was on CNN, and they would have told it if there were more...lol
Yep--I was watching on CNN too, while I worked on order entry.
He handled things well, as he always does. I am so impressed and inspired to be a better person, every time I watch or listen to him!
It's been a long time, since I felt that way about any President!
We did GOOD in November, America...we did GOOD!
