Reading and Laughing

The book I am currently reading is The Persian Pickle Club, by Sandra Dallas. It's set in Depression-era Kansas. Those were some tough times, and I have the feeling we are not far from another serious Depression right now.

Anyway, the following short passage I am quoting here, really made me laugh!

She called Pa an old sinner and said it was a shame Jesus died for people like him. Pa got her back. Pa says "Died? I never knowed He was feeling poorly." Sonny laughed, and I had to smile.

Okay, so I'm a little warped! Can't help it, that was just FUNNY!
